Camps for youth (THRIVE Program)
THRIVE Youth is a fully accessible, week-long camp for ages 7–17 that integrates adaptive physical activity with structured therapeutic and social-emotional supports in a bilingual setting. South Arts awarded Joshua’s House Foundation through its Accessibility Micro-Grant to support the launch of a structured visual arts chapter—THRIVE through Art—as part of the THRIVE camp. Activities are designed to support self-expression, emotional regulation, and cognitive development

We are pleased to share how Joshua’s House Foundation has utilized the funds awarded through the Autism License Plate Grant to continue supporting our community. We would like to highlight a particularly touching story that demonstrates the impact of our work.
Thanks to the promotion of our workshops on social media, a mother, desperate for help, reached out to us regarding her 17-year-old son, who had stopped speaking entirely for nearly six months. At that point, they turned to our foundation for support.
After conducting a comprehensive evaluation, we discovered that in addition to being on the autism spectrum, the young man was also suffering from selective mutism. We immediately began working with him, providing not only mental health therapies but also equine therapy, and we integrated him into our specialized camps.
Throughout his treatment, he gradually began to regain his vocabulary, heal emotionally, and show remarkable progress. We also provided his family with the tools and guidance needed to effectively support him on his journey to recovery.
Stories like this are a clear example of the positive impact that the Autism License Plate Grant has enabled us to make in the lives of individuals with autism and their families. We are deeply grateful for this support, which has allowed us to offer hope and healing to those who need it most.

In partnership with the City of Orlando’s Mayor’s Matching Grant Program, Joshua’s House Foundation is implementing the Vocational Program for Special Students during 2026, serving bilingual youth with developmental and neurological disabilities within Orlando city limits. This initiative focuses on job-readiness training, supervised internships, peer mentoring, and mental health support to strengthen pathways to certification, employment, and independent living.

With support from the Dale Jr. Foundation, Joshua’s House Foundation delivers the THRIVE Youth Program during 2026, providing inclusive, therapeutic camps for children and youth with developmental and neurological disabilities. These week-long camps offer bilingual mental health support, recreational and therapeutic activities, and meaningful family engagement, fostering social-emotional growth, physical wellness, confidence, and a sense of belonging in a safe and accessible environment.

Joshua’s House Foundation received support from Parikh Giving Alliance to elevate our Community Resource and Wellness Fair in Orlando. This bilingual event connects families to no-cost services, practical workshops, referral partners, and upcoming program opportunities, helping caregivers of children and youth with disabilities access trusted information and ongoing support across Central Florida.

Joshua’s House Foundation was awarded support from Lithia4Kids for THRIVE Youth, our year-round bilingual camp program for children and teens with developmental and neurological disabilities. This funding helps underwrite a full camp experience and expand access to adaptive games, sensory-friendly movement, arts, and garden-based activities that promote physical wellness, confidence, and social-emotional growth.

With support from the Dralla Foundation, Joshua’s House Foundation is enhancing THRIVE Youth through two specially designed camp experiences focused on joy, confidence, and inclusion for children and teens with physical disabilities. These camps feature accessible equine activities, pool experiences, creative expression, and structured recreation so participants can safely engage, build independence, and create lasting memories.

Joshua’s House Foundation received support from the Innovating Worthy Projects Foundation to strengthen the THRIVE Youth Program, our bilingual camp initiative for children with developmental and neurological disabilities. This award helps expand access to therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities in a safe and inclusive setting, while also reducing barriers for low-income and Spanish-speaking families across Central Florida.
